WHY GREEN?

The colour green is a symbol of life and regeneration. Our house is surrounded by green; we are convinced that this green is the most precious thing we have and that it is our responsibility to preserve it with the utmost care and respect.

WHAT WE DO?

We have chosen to look to the future with a positive attitude, creating it for our children, with our children. That is why we have made small decisions based on common sense and goodwill so as to limit our impact on the planet and on the environment as much as possible.

CLEAN AIR

Inside our home and the enclosed spaces of the farm smoking is forbidden, to protect the health of our guests and our family, to safeguard both non-smokers as well as the cleanliness of the air. In the bedrooms, where we spend approximately a third of our lives, plants particularly suited to ensuring more oxygenated and purified air are used. We are located at an altitude of around 300 meters above sea level, where fine particles and fog struggle to reach.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

To heat our farm, we have chosen to use heat pumps that run on renewable electricity. We wish to further improve by installing a photovoltaic system as soon as paperwork will allow. For our family, on the other hand, we have chosen a wood stove that burns wood collected when cleaning our woods and a pellet stove, from a strictly certified source.

CLEAN SOIL AND ORGANIC PRODUCTS

On our farm, all the plants and products grown on our land are strictly organic, controlled by the ICEA (Environmental and Ethical Certification Institute). Besides the satisfaction of our high-quality olive oil and wine, this choice has allowed us to care for the health of our family and our guests, who may stay in a cleaner environment, as well as to respect the environment and the animals we hope will remain intact even in the future.

WATER SAVING

In our bathrooms we have installed fixtures that use 30% less water than average. We avoid using bottled water for our daily needs in order to limit the use of plastic containers and related transport, since our water comes from good quality aqueduct. We have also created a system that uses rainwater to water the garden.

ENERGY SAVING

Most of the light bulbs installed are energy saving, this has allowed us to not waste energy and limit consumption by at least 50%; all rooms are equipped with a system that blocks the flow of hot/cold air in case doors or windows are opened to the outside.

SEPARATE WASTE COLLECTION

Throughout our farm we have adopted separate waste collection, giving preference to recycled materials as much as possible.

MATERIALS USED

When purchasing furniture, fixtures and accessories, we have always sought to favour products with a certified origin, for example wood coming from plantations and not deforestation.
